BLAKE DRIVER
Blake Driver is in his third year as Director of Bands for Pennfield, after four years as the assistant. This is his ninth year of teaching. Mr. Driver is a graduate of Finlandia University, Northern Michigan University, Aquinas College. In 2008, he earned a Masters in Music degree from the American Band College of Southern Oregon University. Mr. Driver enjoys playing the guitar at his church, playing tennis, and riding his motorcycle. He is married to Julie and they have twin sons, Thomas and David.
CHUCK DIXON
Chuck Dixon is in his third year as Assistant Director of Bands
at Pennfield. Before coming to Pennfield, he was the Director
of Bands at Bellevue Community Schools for over 16 years. Mr.
Dixon holds degrees in Music Education from Olivet College and
VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois. He has performed
with the Cereal City Concert Band, Marshall Community Band, Kalamazoo Concert Band, and the Brass Band of Battle Creek. He is a member of
the professional music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and
the Michigan School Band and Orchestra (MSBOA). In addition
to his teaching duties, Mr Dixon provides tech support with
the district Technology Department and oversees the technical
aspects of the Pennfield Performing Arts Center.
Ashley Squires
Ashley Squires is our student teacher from Albion College, majoring in K-12 Music Education, and will be working with the band program through December. She is a clarinetist by trade and has studied under Craig Suhusky, Janet Pinto-Sommerfeld, Chris Kirkpatric, and Meghan Merciers. She is a 2005 alumnus of Harper Creek High School and during the summer months enjoys performing with the Post Band of Battle Creek. She has two younger sisters attending school in Adrian and Athens and has been an employee of Binder Park Zoo for the past six years.
