The Pennfield High School Bands have a long-standing tradition of quality performance in the concert hall and on the marching field. During the nearly 50 years that the band program has been in existence, the concert bands have earned more than sixty first division ratings at district and state band festivals sponsored by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association, and the Marching Band has earned 43 consecutive first division ratings at the M.S.B.O.A. District Marching Band Festival. The high school bands are directed by Mr. Blake Driver.  The student President of the 2008-09 Pennfield High School Band is Anna Miller.

The Panther Marching Band  includes all High School band members in grades nine through twelve. The band performs at all home football games, and also participates in the Battle Creek Marching Invitational, MSBOA Marching Band Festival, and the Marshall Christmas Parade. The drum majors for the 2008-09 band are Kayla Perry and Kelsey Ledbetter. The marching band rehearses during 5th block and also on Tuesday evenings during the marching season.

The High School Symphonic Band includes all band members in grades nine through twelve.  Auditions are required of all students who wish to participate. The Symphonic Band is considered to the be the core band experience in the high school band program and is a performing concert organization dedicated to quality performance of fine band literature. The band performs numerous concerts throughout the school year, and also performs at MSBOA band festivals.  

 The High School Jazz Ensemble is open by audition to all high school instrumentalists interested in playing and learning about jazz. Instrumentation is limited to traditional jazz ensemble instruments.  However, an effort is made to include all students who are interested.  The Jazz Ensemble meets outside of the school day or during the seminar period, and is only active when sufficient interest and responsibility is shown by those participating. The Jazz Ensemble is scheduled for two concert performances each year, with additional opportunities for performance dictated by student interest.

The Panther Pep Band performs at home varsity basketball games of both boys and girls and is open to all interested band members. Middle school band students who can participate after auditioning for Mr. Driver on the school fight song.
